フリーマガジンgatta!について
2004年9月に産声をあげたフリーマガジンgatta!は、印刷という活字に関わる生業を続けてきた大風印刷が選んだ、新たなコミュニケーションツールです。男女を問わず山形に所縁や関心のある人を対象に、山形の人・モノ・街・文化をあらためて見直し、山形の良さに本質から気付くきっかけになってほしいという想いを込めて発行する無料の月刊誌であり、山形の本質的な魅力を継続的に啓蒙することを目的としています。
About the free magazine gatta!
The free magazine gatta!, which was launched in September 2004, is a new communication tool chosen by Okaze Printing, a company that has continued to make a living from printing with type. It is a free monthly magazine aimed at people of all genders who have a connection to or interest in Yamagata, with the hope that it will encourage them to take a fresh look at Yamagata’s people, things, city, and culture, and to become aware of the true essence of what is good about Yamagata. Its aim is to continually raise awareness of Yamagata’s essential charms.
誌名について
「gatta!」の誌名は、やまがたのガタ＝形＝カタチという語調と、方言〈※〉の、がったふり＝知ったかぶりに由来し「本当の山形を知っていますか？」という読み手への問いかけを込めて名付けられました。
※山形市北部から東村山地区でよく使われてきた方言。使用例：がったあんにゃ（知ったかぶりをする男）、がったがった（わかったよ）
About the magazine name
The name “gatta!” comes from the Yamagata accent, where “gata” means “shape” and “katachi” means “form,” and the dialect* “gatta furi” means “pretending to know everything,” and is meant to ask readers, “Do you know the real Yamagata?”
*A dialect commonly used in the northern part of Yamagata City and the Higashimurayama area. Examples: gattada annya (a man who pretends to know everything), gattagatta (I got it)

もっと楽しく、より多くの人に、私たちが編纂した情報を届けたい。山形に所縁があったり山形に関心を寄せてくださるより多くの人たちに『gatta!』を見ていただけるよう、電子版ブックの配信や特集記事を別カット写真なども織り交ぜたアーカイブとして掲載しています。さらに、「チマタの話題」と題したトピックスやコラム、動画配信などweb限定のコンテンツも掲載。冊子だけでは伝えきれない情報もお届けしていくことで、山形をもっと好きになってもらえるような、情報やサービスを提供していきたいと考えています。
About gatta! web
We want to make the information we compile more enjoyable and reach more people. To make “gatta!” accessible to more people who have a connection to or are interested in Yamagata, we distribute the e-book and publish feature articles as an archive that interweaves separate photos. We also publish web-only content such as topics and columns titled “Chimata Topics.” By delivering information that cannot be conveyed in a booklet alone, we hope to provide information and services that will make people fall in love with Yamagata even more.

編集は紙にとどまらない。多角展開について
gatta!では、単に月刊の冊子を発行するだけでなく、山形の食文化と編集が結び付いた情報発信を模索する取り組みを行なっています。地域の豊かな自然と農業を読者に身近に感じてもらうため、2020年から始めた米作りプロジェクト「ガッタンボ」では、山形市風間の地で銘柄はえぬきを栽培してその過程を情報発信しつつ、栽培した米は、精米販売をはじめクラフトビール醸造や地元飲食店とのコラボ料理などに活用。様々な業種の地元企業様との繋がりをもとに、地元の印刷会社ならではのスモールスケールな機動力を生かして展開しています。
また、gatta!で20年以上にわたり地域に根差してきた、いちメディアであるという自負を持ちつつ、コラボグッズの企画販売、トーキングイベントやラジオへの出演など、山形の本質をクロスメディアで発信するための取り組みも行なっています。
Editing is not limited to paper. Diversified development
gatta! does more than simply publish a monthly booklet; it is also working to find ways to share information that combine Yamagata’s food culture with its editorial work. In order to bring the region’s rich nature and agriculture closer to readers, the “Gattanbo” rice-growing project, launched in 2020, cultivates Haenuki rice in Kazama, Yamagata, and shares information about the process. The rice is then used for milling and sales, as well as for craft beer brewing and collaborative cooking with local restaurants. Building on connections with local businesses across a variety of industries, the project leverages the small-scale agility unique to a local printing company.
Furthermore, gatta! is proud to be a media outlet that has been rooted in the local community for over 20 years, and is also working to communicate the essence of Yamagata through cross-media, such as planning and selling collaborative goods, holding talking events, and appearing on radio.
